Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-10-09. This policy explains how data is handled when you use Voice to Handwriting.
1. Data we do not collect
- Text content: text you type or dictate exists only in your browser's memory and local storage (localStorage) — including anything you save to history, which stays on your device. It is never sent to our servers.
- Exported files: PNG / PDF files are generated locally by your browser and never pass through us.
- Accounts: the site has no account system and requires no registration.
2. Third-party processing of voice
Speech recognition uses the browser's native Web Speech API, provided by the browser vendor:
- Desktop Chrome / Edge: audio is sent to Google's speech recognition service, governed by the Google Privacy Policy;
- Safari on Apple devices: audio is processed by Apple's speech recognition service.
That data never passes through this site's servers. For fully local use, type your text instead of speaking.
3. Local storage
All of the following stays in your browser and never leaves your device; clearing your browser data removes it:
- Style preferences: font, paper and other options (
vth-prefs); - History: if you use the history feature, your saved texts are stored locally (
vth-history) and can be deleted individually or all at once on the History page; - Cookie choice: your decision in the cookie banner (
vth-consent).
4. Logs and analytics
The site is served by a third-party hosting provider (Vercel), which processes standard request logs (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and prevent abuse. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless analytics tool that measures aggregate traffic without cookies and without identifying individual visitors. This data is not used for advertising. We also use Microsoft Clarity to understand how the tool is used, through heatmaps and session recordings in which all typed text is masked. Clarity sets no cookies, and this data is used only to improve usability — never for advertising.
5. Cookies and third-party advertising
This site serves ads through third-party networks such as Google AdSense to stay free. These vendors may use cookies to personalize ads. You can manage personalized ads via Google Ads Settings or disable third-party cookies in your browser.
6. Children
The site is for general audiences and does not knowingly collect information from children under 14.
7. Changes to this policy
Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
